A 'Rihanna Day' In Barbados

Rihanna is set to be honoured with a national holiday in her home country of Barbados. The Umbrella singer is thrilled after discovering the Caribbean island will declare today 'Rihanna Day'. A source said: "She's really flattered. She can't believe she now has her own national day, it's such an honour." Rihanna, who turned 20 yesterday, will fly out to Barbados to accept the honour and perform a free concert. She will be accompanied on the trip by rumoured boyfriend Chris Brown. Although the pair have denied dating, Chris helped Rihanna celebrate her birthday early last week along with friends, including Kanye West and actor Wilmer Valderrama, at Los Angeles' Les Deux nightclub.

The evening featured a spontaneous food fight among the guests followed by Chris singing an a cappella version of Happy Birthday to Rihanna. Onlookers at the bash said the pair were "cuddling and acting very cosy all night". The couple also attended the Grammys together earlier this month and stocked up on goody bags.

The Game Gets Arrested

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It's game over for The Game.

The rapper was sentenced Monday to 60 days in jail after pleading no contest to felony possession of a firearm in a school zone. Two other counts were dismissed under a plea agreement, the district attorney's office said.

The 28-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, was accused of pulling a gun on a player from an opposing team during a pickup game at a South Los Angeles school nearly a year ago.

Superior Court Judge Fred Wapner credited the rapper with two days already served toward the jail time and imposed 150 hours of community service and a three-year probationary term.

An e-mail to the rapper's attorney seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Martin Scorsese To Make A Bob Marley Documentary

Fresh from the world premiere of his Rolling Stones concert film "Shine a Light" at the Berlin International Film Festival on Thursday, Martin Scorsese is preparing to tackle another musical project.

The Oscar-winning director has signed on to shoot a documentary about influential reggae musician-songwriter Bob Marley. The feature doesn't have a title yet, but it does have a release date: February 6, 2010, the 65th anniversary of Marley's birth.

The film has the support of the Marley family; son Ziggy Marley is acting as one of the executive producers. As with "Shine a Light," property heir Steve Bing is financing.

Marley died of cancer in 1981 at age 36 and achieved iconic status posthumously. Several attempts have been made to bring his story to the screen, but none have come to fruition.

Scorsese is preparing to direct "Shutter Island," an adaptation of a Dennis Lehane novel starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo and Michelle Williams.
