For about two weeks Mr. Vegas has been admitted to the hospital for pericarditis and gastroesophageal reflux.Pericarditis is the inflammation of the pericardium sac which encloses the heart and causes pressure on the heart muscle which results in pain and gastroesophageal reflux is when gastric acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus, which is the passage leading to the stomach. Both conditions are extremely serious but Vegas admits that this is his third time being hospitalized for pericarditis.
The Star reports that he has been sleeping in the upright position and has been avoiding certain types of food. He also admits he had to cancel shows and even thought of giving up his career. However, he told the star that he is anticipating releasing his new album 'Hot It Up' on August 28, 2007.
