Mighty Crown Wins Final World Clash

Mighty Crown is once again the reigning champions for the Final World Clash which was held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Amazura in NY.

Mighty Crown won the title over Bass Odyssey, who are also well known contenders and pass winners. David Rodigan, who went up against Ninja Man, won his clash, even though Ninja Man managed to deliver during his segment. However , it seems the clash between Beenie Man and Mattherhorn was a tie, as the patrons enjoyed both artists and were unable to declare an official winner.

Arrest Warrant Issued For Beenie Man

KINGSTON (Reuters) - A Jamaican judge issued an arrest warrant for reggae musician Beenie Man after he failed to turn up in court to answer tax evasion charges on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old singer and dance hall DJ, whose real name is Anthony Moses Davis, was scheduled to appear in court to tell how he planned to pay taxes owed for more than a decade.

"I am surprised that he has not appeared before me," Judge Owen Parkins said before issuing the warrant. "This case is well publicized and he should have been in court. No one is above the law."

Beenie Man faced the court three weeks earlier and was told he owed the Jamaican revenue department US$415,000 in unpaid taxes plus US$246,000 in penalties. He said then that he was unaware he owed the money and that the company that formerly managed his business affairs was responsible for paying the taxes.

The Kingston native won a Grammy award for Best Reggae Album for his 2000 release "Art and Life."

Church Puts A Stop to Beenie Man's Latest Video

Beenie Man will no longer be able to air his latest video entitled "These Streets", without first settling a court injunction ordered by the St. Andrew Parish Church in Half Way Tree, Jamaica.

The video, which Beenie Man claims is a message for the youths to stop the violence, was shot in the church's cemetery and was featured in the first scene of the video. However, the church requested that the scene be taken out of the video before it's official debut but due to "miscommunication", according to the director, Ras Tingle, the scene was not removed when the video made it's debut Friday, on Entertainment Report.

Since the ordering of the injunction, the video has been removed and is now being re-edited. But to see the first version of the video, check our earlier posts.

Beenie Man Claims Domestic Squabble Was Only An Argument

After much media attention following Beenie Man's admittance to the hospital, with injuries that resulted from a reported domestic dispute between himself and D'Angel, he tells the star that the incident was a rumor that got blown out of proportion.

He says "There was no fight. Me an me wife have a argument an people a blow it out a proportion. Me an me woman have a argument an me nuh know who call di newspapa. Me an mi wife had an argument once, an wi a guh have argument again, but wah mi fi do, lef? A mi wife, a nuh like seh is jus a girl weh mi deh wid."

He also added that the rumor may have been started due to the fact that people have been eager to stir up negativity between himself and D'Angel.

But although he is evidently committed,
with so much spotlight on their relationship, it will clearly be hard for him to avoid such ill-famed popularity. However, this can only mean that the public should expect much controversy from Jamaica's 'it' couple.
